RECOM introduces 36-160VDC input DC/DC converters for railway applications

     RECOM introduces the cost-effective RPxx-RAW family of products ideal for railway applications or applications requiring a wide input voltage range as an isolated auxiliary power source. Its 36-160VDC input range is suitable for nominal input voltage applications of 72V, 96V, or 110V, with maximum input voltage of up to 200V (1 second). The series is also suitable for general applications requiring higher DC inputs in harsh environments, such as iot sensors, battery management systems, and electric forklifts.

     It provides single-channel output of 3.3V, 5V, 12V, 15V, 24V, and dual-channel output of +/-5V, +/-12V, and +/-15V. The RP03-RAW series is rated at 3W, the RP06-RAW at 6W, and the RP10-RAW at 10W. The products are available in a generic through-hole pin and DIP24 industry standard package with dimensions of 31.8mm (L) x 20.3mm (W) x 10.6mm (H).

     RPxx-RAW series uses advanced topological circuit and thermal design technology to achieve high efficiency and low temperature rise, so that it can operate fully under high temperature natural convection environment without derating. The high temperature derating temperatures of 3W, 6W, and 10W are 90°C, 85°C, and 75°C, respectively. The operating temperature can reach 105°C under load derating or forced cooling. The series features full protection against overtemperature, input undervoltage, output short circuit and overload, while also providing ON/OFF control to put the converter into low-power standby mode.

     The RPxx-RAW series has 3kVAC enhanced isolation and is certified for multimedia and IT applications by the railway application standard EN50155 as well as IEC/EN/UL62368 and the Canadian equivalent. The EMC standard EN55032 Class A specification can be met without external components, or Class B specification can be met if three small external capacitors are added.
