STMicroelectronics introduces energy efficient voltage comparator
STMicroelectronics introduces a wide range of voltage comparators. With the same response time, the rated operating current of ST's new products is one-third that of similar products on the market (e.g. LMV331).
The market demands greater energy efficiency and longer battery life in portable electronic devices, and ST's latest voltage comparator is designed to meet this requirement, in line with ST's environmental commitment to sustainability. With a propagation dely of 200ns and an operating current of only 30µA, this ultra-low-power product is 66% less energy efficient than similar products on the market. This unmatched energy efficiency enables ST's customers to design products that consume less power and are more environmentally friendly.
Over the operating temperature range of -40°C to +125°C, the new comparator provides a stable response time and excellent ESD protection. The new comparator integrates an open-drain output and 1.6V to 5V rail-to-rail input, the widest range of rail-to-rail input voltages on the market today, which will help achieve greater design flexibility. Developers can design ST comparators into 1.8V, 3V and 5V systems.
The versatile ultra-low power voltage comparators are available in a space-saving SMD package in single, dual and four-way comparators. Their target applications include signal conditioning modules for mobile communication devices and battery-powered portable electronics, as well as alarm and security systems.
